1. The AGM minutes of 2010 were agreed as accurate. Proposed Alan, Seconded - Kev.
2. Club activities.
River - Matt and Fiona commented on the paddling potential of the Nith, Ayr and Awe.
Sea - Tuesday nights ran through the Summer. Trip to Skye went ahead in May.
Slalom - Paddlers doing well, promoted through the divisions. 13 members went to 17 events. 5 promotions.
Courses - White water safety and rescue well attended and valuable to attendees.
2 day 2 star at Loch Winnoch.
3. Treasurers report.
Capital assets steady. Membership and pool paid for the coaching courses to the tune of £1700. More was spent on training this year than pool hire. Investment in more boats will see a reduction of the captial assets (cash in bank.)
4. Bosun’s report
Reasonable fleet. Disposed of some old school boats. Alan’s Inazone now restored and donated as a club boat. Wavehoppers back to the SCA. Some slalom boats are now on loan from the SCA.
Money spend on skeg lines and general small maintenance items. All kit CAN be accounted for. Bosun recommends purchase of some larger boats for larger paddlers and to also help people tackle more challenging water in greater security. Suggests the Pyranha Burn or other creek boats.
Bosun requests that people inform him if kit is borrowed, and if damage is sustained by any hardware.
Bosun will kit the boats up for typical use.
4. Election of officers
Jez Webb as Vice Chair. Proposed Lorna, seconded Neil and Kev.
5. Proposals
Increase family membership of 2+2 to £60.
Add some structure to pool sessions with weekly coaching. JW to liase with potential helper and draw up rota.
Club visibility - new posters for the Citadel.
Martin - Try to get an article in the Kilmarnock papers
Discuss further at the next meeting.
Meeting closed 1745.
Jeremy Webb October 2011.
