1. The river course started on April 3rd but there were only 3 paddlers. Hopefully
there will be a few more the coming week and if not the course will be cancelled. The
plan is to cover surf and river and sea this year.
AG/JW

2. Summer sea paddling from Doonfoot will start the Tuesday after Easter 26th April
LS

3. There will be a summer BBQ at Sawney Bean’s cave
this didn’t happen due to the poor weather

4. The Tayvallich weekend will be July 23rd

5. Slalom – there are two very good club boats and four SCA boats. There are 14
paddlers of different ages, sizes and abilities. Russell and Graeme are doing a lot of
coaching and most of the paddlers have done very well. Many are now at least
division 3. Folk tend to want more time in the ‘better’ boats. The committee discussed
how best to manage this and it was agreed that Maurice and Russell would draft a set
of rules for managing the expanding number of slalom paddlers in training and
competition and bring it back to committee for discussion. This would include
responsibility for club kit while on the water and an acceptable skill level at which the
club boats would be available for use. It was suggested thjat these issues could be
discussed with other clubs who have been active in slalom for longer to see how they
manage these issues.
MC/RC

6. Kev gave a summary of club finance.
The club took about £2.5K in membership and pool fees as usual
Payment to the Citadel for the pool, courses and maintenance is £2.1K. This includes
£275 for the Lochwinnoch 2* training and £440 instructor training for Neil and
George.
There is about £4.8K in the bank
WWS+R course in May will cost £35 for each of 12 participants (50% paid so far)

Alan will get a quote for the trailer to be fixed

We still need air bags for the slalom boats. Lomo have none.

7. Affiliation – Lorna has a membership database. The plan is to redesign the
membership form for the start of the pool sessions so that it can all be done on line.
Jeremy, Lorna and Kev will form a subcommittee to look at this. LS/JW/KT

8. 2* consolidation – working towards 2* assessment. We need to plan in advance to

consolidate and assess, maybe using Loch Doon. Hence we need the trailer fixed to
get people and kit to these locations.
