Membership Directory PDF Print E-mail

One of the things to come up from the recent AGM was that it was difficult to get contact details for people in the club.

This problem is easily solved, as the club Forum has a Membership Directory  which is ONLY accessible to people who log in, and are therefore club members.

Please do take the opportunity to add your details to the directory, including:

  • Your preferred contact details
  • Your paddling experience
  • The sort of kayaking you are looking to do
If you have an SCA / BCU coaching qualification, could you also put Coach next to your name, so it is easy to see who are coaches.

If you still don't have a login for the club, contact me.

In accordance with the Club Constitution, notice is hereby given that the 2009 Annual General Meeting of Kyle Kayak Club will take place on Sunday 4th October, 2009, commencing at 4pm in the conference room at the Citadel Building, Ayr. The meeting is open to all current and prospective club members.

Agenda

Chairman’s welcome

Adoption of minutes from 2008 Annual General Meeting

Review of club activities 2008-2009

Treasurer’s report

Election of officers and committee members (see note 1)

Review of pool fees for members and non-members (see note 2)

Boat store security (see note 3)

Any other competent business

Note 1: Jeremy Webb wishes to stand down as club bo’sun. All other office bearers are prepared to stand again. Lorna Sherwood has offered to combine the post of member’s secretary with vice chair. Please advise any nominations for bo’sun or any other office bearers by e-mail to Bridget Oates by 24th September 2009.

Note 2: It is proposed to increase pool fees for non-members to £6/5 for adults/juniors. We would like to encourage individuals to become club members and benefit from access to club kit, insurance and club activities.

Note 3: The club has a considerable quantity of boats and kit available to club members. It is stored at the Citadel and we need to establish a process for facilitating member access to this equipment while maintaining security and equity of access for all members.

Gear amnesty!

Please, if you have any equipment out from the store please can return it by THIS SATURDAY.

I am intending to do a stock check on Sunday morning, and this would be appreciated. Please remember if you borrow stuff please ask the bosun (currently me) first, and try to return it as soon as possible.

Holding on to boats for a long time can cause many problems.

Pool Sessions.

The first pool session will be on October 4th at 6pm. Prior to that will be the AGM at 4pm, all welcome.

More details to follow about both these things.

Clothing.

I'm in the process of getting some KKC branded clothing together - hoodies and a fleece top. This should be ready for the first pool session.

White water safety and rescue.

Those folks heading off to the WWSR course - have fun, and tell us how you get on and what you learnt in the forum. The club will reimburse half the course cost. Contact the treasurer (Kev) for how to go about this.

Regards,Jeremy.
