Gear, Prestwick Prom, Further Trips... - 2010/06/18 08:04 Three quick things.

1. Prestwick Promenade 100 Year Celebration.

Something big is happening in Prestwick on the 26th June, and KKC will be there. We need helpers to provide a presence for the KKC on the beach, and perhaps to help with "come and try it" sessions. This could be a great opportunity to attract new members to the club, so if you are free on that day, please get in touch with me, or reply to this message in the forum. http://www.kayakayr.co.uk/club-forum/club-trips-training/prestwick-prom-100/view.html

It was also be good to get together afterwards for a wee half in Prestwick, perhaps a meal? Again, reply to the forum post with your suggestions / interest.

2. Where has all the kit gone?

Had the Bosun on the phone recently, reporting that there is a lot of kit missing from the store. I can understand how that might have been the case while the river course was running, as late returns to Ayr meant it was impractical to return gear to the store.

However, now, the right place for club kit is in the store. Although there is no river paddling going on right now, I know many club members (myself included) are looking to do ad-hoc training sessions for family and club members, so it's vital that kit is returned.

Apparently the main items outstanding are: The new boats, all the new cags(!), half the new neoprene spray decks.

Please, if you have any of these items, return them to the store as soon as possible. If you can't do this by Sunday morning, please inform Neil that you have the kit so he can account for it. Neil: windmillboy72@hotmail.com

Access to good quality equipment is one of the big pluses of club membership. Please help us make it accessible to all club members.

3. Sea Kayaking.

As you've probably noticed, there is no water in the rivers. However, watch the forums, as I understand the sea kayakers are getting out there...

Regards,

Jeremy.
