Saturday 8th October - 2011/10/06 21:10 fiona, matt and i are paddling this weekend however i'm not commiting as to where untill friday night as, at the moment the rivers are in full spate. We'll make our mind based on OUR views of how we think it'll pan out. If you want to join us, please do however you need to let us know.
Options at the moment are:

nith up to 4 foot
girvan between 2 and 3 foot
doon to sea at any level

at the afore mentioned heights, this is not a dawdle and swims can be long amd kit can go astray if you dont keep a hold of it so make up YOUR mind before you commit

happy paddles

Given the water levels it looks as if the middle doon will be at a really nice level.

It is a cracking stretch although I know some folk may have a few flashbacks!

It would also be good if someone with a bit of knowledge of lines was going as I have only run it twice and my memory is not the best!

Re:Saturday 8th October - 2011/10/07 12:06 i could sum up the middle doon in 3 words:

dont like it

i've not had great luck with it and unless we had several good "chasers" i wouldn't be comfortable with it. if you screw up the last drop (which turns into a hefty stopper) before the gorge, then you're not gonna have a nice day.
flashbacks - hmmm, for me there are plenty but i'd not want to put people off this run, which is without a doubt, one of ayrshires finest.
in fact, it's like a cute, cuddly 8 week old puppy......

WITH MASSIVE TEETH!
