Re:Possible new member! Few questions - 2006/09/15 21:43 Hi,
The club runs trips on a sunday morning all year round (there are no official trips at the moment because of few coachs but there are usually some experienced paddlers going out who will look after you) and Sunday night sessions in the citadel pool at 6.30 during the winter (start in October) check the posts in club trip section to see who is likely to be out and what kind of paddle it will be on sunday, usually meet at citadel car park (behind the ark) at 8.45-9.00.

Hope this helps

Re:Possible new member! Few questions - 2006/09/15 22:46 Cool what about equipment etc? I can get my hands on a wetsuit/boyancy/spraydeck/cag but no kayak or paddel! Although have the facility to carry kayaks on my car!

I know i wont make it this week poss next week, and then not until mid october as have BELA and DoE training on the following wkends.

I'm in the market for a kayak at the moment, but cant afford an expensive one.

Perhaps something like this:

Any views etc? Or suggestions?

I'm quite big, so need a hight volume boat to keep afloat. 6ft 100-105Kg of pure muscle

Re:Possible new member! Few questions - 2006/09/18 22:06 THe club has a selection of boats and paddles available to borrow (which is what I use as I can't afford a boat at moment) including ones big enough to float my 90 kg oof solid... weight.

Re:Possible new member! Few questions - 2006/09/18 22:14 Cool, well i'll hold off just now. Sat in that teksport boat this afternoon down at desperate measures and it was a decent fit for me. Enough room for me and even possibly the extra thigh grips too. Would have liked to take it out on the water but time didnt permit, and at ?25 was a bit steep as they were ?100 dearer than elsewhere.

Re:Possible new member! Few questions - 2006/09/19 12:02 hi, haven't been to kayak club for ages (missed a few sessions so didn't find out summer practice arrangements) and so I'm a bit out of touch with kayaking. WOuld I be able to start coming to practice again or should I do some brushing up on my skills first?
